Hollis Lena Jones
Lena was filled with the same beauty of GOD's love & grace
She is dearly loved and sorely missed.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven."  - Jesus the Christ.

Lena's love for our Heavenly Father was something she had known from her birth in Georgetown, Guyana, because of her Christian upbringing.

Proverbs 3:5,6 is one of the many verses she clung to: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path."

Throughout her life, even to the acquiring of her
husband Cyril, to whom she was married for 40 years, the Lord proved this promise to be true!

It was always Lena's fervent desire that those who should find themselves at one of her sites, perusing the "from-the-heart" prose she posted at Authors Den, or paging through the humble pages at one of her personal ministries: "Daily Soul Food For You" and "Soak In His Words", would also find encouragement, comfort, and an in-filling of the Holy Spirit.

I think her Legacy in this vein is huge!
FOR

HE

HOLLIS LENA JONES was a beautiful mosaic, and an amazing Woman of God!  Her friendship and fellowship were both a Gift and a Reward to me.  Uniquely loving and gentle, she was a spiritual giant.. yet, she crossed my life as gracefully as a lovely ballerina, leaping joyfully across the stage of life.  She shared my residing JOY IN THE LORD - and that is most-difficult a friend to find.
In life, she was vibrant: a loving, faithful wife, a step-mother, a singer, a world-traveler and ballroom dancer with her beloved husband Cy, a pianist, an interior decorator, a finacial accountant, a poet and an author.  I'm sure there is more I never even learned of in the eight short years we were blessed to be Friends.. but in a word, Lena was amazing!  Her heart was always to bless someone with the Gospel, and help change a life.  We merged our prayer teams at one point, and if I needed rest, she would take over for me.
It shook my faith to its roots when she was diagnosed with cancer..but the LORD strengthened me to her battle with prayer, fastings, and intercessions.. and I believed with her TO THE END, that she would receive her healing and deliverance.
Contrary to what most people think.. Lena DID get her Victory.  She now resides in Heaven with our LORD Jesus Christ!  And we will meet again one day soon!  Until then, she remains steadfastly in my heart and memory.    Oh, how I miss you, my Sister!  xo Rev. Rhonda
The impact of losing my friend

FACE THE MUSIC

The notes
turned in
mid-air a
spiral light
and airy
warm and
deep..

Announcing
the birth of
a brand-new
Friendship!

The notes
learned to
move in
unison over
the years..

Announcing
to the world
that their
song was
mutually
sung to
magnify the
LORD!

The notes
churned in-
wardly stirring
the depths of
 souls raising
orisons of
urgency..

Announcing
 faith to
overcome!

The notes
burned
dark holes
into the
atmosphere
a dirge..

Announcing
the death
of a Friend.

I must now
wake-up
and face
the music..

Announcing
She is Gone.

January 27, 1953 - July 12, 2014

Sadly, our fellow poet/author Lena
has succumbed to cancer,
but her spirit is now with the LORD,
and her memory will live on in everyone
whose life she has touched!
